Panic As Residents Gather Fuel From A Fallen Tanker In Cross Community (Watch Video)

Residents of Akamkpa, Cross River State, were seen gathering fuel from a toppled tanker following an accident in the area, News360 Nigeria reports.

 

According to a Facebook post by popular journalists Agba Jalingo, the tanker which was transporting fuel, overturned on a major road, leading locals to rush to the scene to collect the spilling fuel.

 

He wrote:

 

“A tanker loaded with PMS had an accident this evening at Small Iwuru, Akamkpa LGA in Cross River State. Immediately after the bridge from Calabar.”

“See the number of people daring death and scooping fuel in the face of such massive danger.”

 

“I am also surprised to see the truck of the Dragon Squad of the Police parked closely and nothing was done to stop the scoopers from the imminent danger.”

News360 Nigeria reports that a devastating petrol tanker explosion occurred in Majiya Town, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State last week and claimed the lives of no fewer than 90 people, with 50 others injured.
